Every Sunday The Promenade hosts a daytime ballroom dance. There is a group lesson for beginner and intermediate levels from 1-2pm, followed by ballroom social dancing from 2-5pm. This is a great way to practice your ballroom dance moves. More information on the Promenade’s website, www.mddancesport.com.

Most Tuesday evenings there is a west coast swing dance held at the Bethesda Women’s Club in Bethesda, MD. The dance is hosted by Ken Roesel and often features guest instructors. Here is the Facebook group for more information: https://www.facebook.com/groups/394579209864118/.

Most Fridays Dave Moldover hosts a WCS dance party at Hollywood Ballroom. This is the largest WCS dance in the area and one of the largest in the world. Often there are several hundred people in attendance. You must pre-register online. More information at https://dancejamproductions.com/fridays/.

Most Fridays there is country couples lesson at 7pm followed by couples and line dancing at Cancun Cantina. Lessons are taught by Dean and Alexis Garrish. Cover is free before 7pm. We offer monthly Country, Line, and WCS dances with dancing in two rooms, with two different DJs, and WCS all night in the studio. Format is as follows.

7:00-7:30 – Beginner Country 2-Step in the Studio, Intermediate Country 2-Step in the main ballroom

7:30-8:00 – Beginner WCS in the Studio, Line Dance Lesson in the main ballroom

8:00-11:00pm – Country and Line dancing in the main ballroom, WCS in the studio.

Pricing is $20. Half price discounts available for first time dance attendees, military/Veterans with ID, Students, or children under 16. Snacks are provided, but you may BYOB and bring food as well.

These dates are planned an entire year in advance and occasionally the dances are rescheduled or cancelled due to space rentals taking precedence over social dances. Several times per year we host special late night dances that go until the wee hours of the morning. These are WCS only dances! We often invite special guest instructors, offer refreshments, several DJs, and plenty of dancing all night long. For 2026, our WCS late night dances are scheduled to be on May 30th and August 1st!
