West coast Swing

We have been growing the WCS community of dancers in the Maryland, DC, and northern Virginia region for many years. We teach weekly WCS lessons in Baltimore County, we host dances for WCS, and we offer private lessons to help our students improve their swing.

Our method is to teach patterns that build in a way that makes sense, teaching foundational skills and emphasizing good technique and partner connection. We discuss body mechanic, the physics of dance and good principles of movement to help our students understand why certain technical aspects make their dancing look and feel better. We believe everyone who moves to music is a dancer. We strive to help our students be the best dancers they can be.

Weekly WCS Classes

When: Beginner and Intermediate classes are held every Thursday night from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. If there is enough interest from participants, we often hold an additional practice session from 8:00-9:00pm.

Where: The Promenade Dance Studio, 2605 Lord Baltimore Drive, Windsor Mill, MD 21244. There is plenty of free parking and the ballroom and dance floor is huge!

Cost: $20 per person. We can accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle as payment. If you stay for the one-hour practice from 8-9, it is $5.00 extra.

What to Expect: Since there are two instructors (Amanda and Corey), we have the capacity to run two classes at the same time. We see who shows up for class and depending on class needs, we may run two classes simultaneously (a beginner and intermediate), or we may opt to combine the class if we think that best for the group that we have. Students do not need to have experience with WCS to come to class. Classes are drop-in rather than based on a series, so students may come any time. Students do not need to bring a partner. We rotate partners in class and anyone who comes with a partner and does not wish to rotate may opt to stay with the same partner while others rotate. At 8pm, if people decide they would like to practice, we will extend by one hour and play WCS music for practice for an additional cost.

Still have questions or want to make sure we are holding class before you come? Email us at Amanda.Corey.Dance@gmail.com or text Amanda (443-739-6492).

Country Western, Line, and Swing Dances

What: Approximately once per month, we host a large party with two rooms of dancing, two separate DJs, and 4 great lessons to choose from! Take any combination of lessons you choose and hop back and forth between the two dance rooms all night!

When: Saturdays in 2025: September 27th, October 18th, and November 22nd. We do not have one in December, as holiday travels and plans often make hosting a dance challenging.

Late Night WCS Dances

Several times per year we host occasional late night WCS dances. All WCS, all night from 7pm until 2am in the morning or sometimes later! Past dances have been some of our best attended! These are special events and don’t happen regularly, so keep your eyes peeled for them! The best way to stay in the loop is to subscribe to our email or text updates, or follow our professional business accounts on Facebook.

Private Lessons

We offer private lessons for students who want to take their dancing to the next level. Your time is yours to work on material tailored to your level of dancing and goals. Topics may include patterns, partnering skills, connection work, technique, work on musicality, turns and spins, competition preparation, showcase routines, and more! Contact us at Amanda.Corey.Dance@gmail.com to learn about our current rates and availability.
