Understanding the labels: USA Dance and UCWDC sanction competitions under their respective rule systems. WDSF is the international DanceSport federation associated with certain USA Dance events. WSDC maintains West Coast Swing event standards and points. NASDE is a separate tour for Classic, Showcase, and Rising Star competition. “Independent collegiate” means the event is organized outside those sanctioning systems.

Membership requirements: Many sanctioned competitions require competitors to purchase an annual membership in the sanctioning organization before registering. Check the event’s eligibility and membership requirements early, since membership fees are usually separate from competition entry fees.
